This course has been developed by the Centre for Mechatronics and Hybrid Technologies (CMHT) at McMaster University. The purpose of this course is to provide you with knowledge of the key aspects of the design and development of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).
The course provides a fundamental understanding of electric
vehicles powertrain design, key powertrain components and subsystems, power
flow management, system integration, and propulsion system modeling. It is
geared towards mechatronic systems design; starting from conceptual
system-level requirements, followed by powertrain components design, system
integration, and ending in verification and validation.
Funding support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) under the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program is gratefully acknowledged.
